1. Pickleback Chicken Wings

Pickle lovers and chicken enthusiasts alike can rejoice. This chicken wing recipe is a great way to use leftover pickle juice, and the brine from the pickles adds a surprising tanginess to entice the palate.

Let your wings marinate in a bowl of pickle juice for up to four hours. Once they’ve had time to soak, drain and pat dry.

While the oven heats to 425 degrees, whisk together bourbon, honey, brown sugar, and a variety of your favorite spices. Toss the wings in the sauce, add a light dusting of salt and pepper on top, and place in the oven to bake for about 50 minutes or until crispy.

Once you’re ready to serve, transfer the chicken wings to a large plate and add a sprinkling of dill and fresh pickle slices as a garnish.

2. Sesame Sticky Wings

Drenched in a mouthwatering sauce that’s both sweet and spicy, this is one wing flavor that requires no additional dressing.

This is a baked recipe, so you won’t have the time constraint of deep-frying. Sticky wings have the perfect kick of spice and the right hint of sweetness, infused in an Asian-inspired marinade.

The marinade includes soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, ginger paste, and crushed red pepper. Finishing off with toasted sesame seeds after baking adds that last bit of texture and flavor to make the perfect appetizer before kickoff.

After your chicken has marinated, set the oven to 425 degrees and place your wings on a baking sheet.  Cook the chicken for 20 minutes, then flip each piece over and brush with the leftover marinade. Sprinkle the chicken with the toasted sesame seeds and cook another 10 to 15 minutes or until the sauce begins to caramelize. Garnish with slices of green onion and there you have it.

3. Crispy Asiago Caesar Chicken Wings

This four-ingredient recipe is used to make some undeniably creamy chicken wings. And no, this Caesar is not going on a salad.

The only ingredients you need are Cajun seasoning, cornstarch, your favorite asiago-Caesar dressing, and chopped parsley for garnish.

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees, line a baking sheet, and coat with non-stick spray. Combine the wings, seasoning, and cornstarch in a large bowl and toss until fully covered. Spread the wings out onto the baking sheet and bake for about 25 minutes before flipping. Bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.

While the wings are baking, turn your attention toward your sauce. Pour the dressing into a saucepan on medium-low heat and stir frequently. Once warm, remove the dressing from the heat and drizzle onto your wings. Add your parsley garnish and voilà.

The cool dressing is the perfect contrast to the spicy seasoning, but if your mouth is still on fire, it’s nothing a refreshing and hoppy pilsner can’t solve.

4. Orange Soda Chicken Wings

We’re getting a bit crazy with this next recipe. Orange soda and chicken wings? It’s two of our favorite things combined into one recipe. This mixture of hot sauce and orange soda provides a sweet, tangy, and citrusy kick that you won’t be able to resist.

Coating the chicken wings with a small amount of baking powder helps them crisp up in the oven. If you’ve heard of double-frying your wings, this recipe is double-baked. The wings are first cooked for 30 minutes at 250 degrees, then another 30 minutes at 425 degrees. This ensures they are cooked thoroughly and that the skin comes out perfectly crispy.

The sauce has a stunning orange flavor and an orange color. Use a cup of Fanta, Orange Crush, or any other type of orange soda to act as the marinade. A pinch of orange zest also contributes to the orange, citrusy flavor. A few tablespoons of brown sugar provide a little sweetness and hot sauce and red pepper flakes add those contrasting spicy notes. Throw a little cilantro on top and you’ll be ready to declare victory in the battle of flavor.

5. Maple Bacon Wings

It’s time for the carnivores to unite. Chicken wings wrapped in bacon and coated in a maple glaze? It’s sweet, it’s savory, and it’s irresistible.

It’s a relatively simple recipe—besides wings and bacon, all you need is barbecue sauce, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and crushed red pepper flakes.

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees and line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil. Wrap each wing with a half-slice of bacon and place on the prepared baking sheet. In a small bowl, whisk your ingredients for your sauce mixture. Brush the sauce all over the wings until they are fully coated and bake for 45 minutes.

The syrup and sugar should create a caramelized glaze and the exterior should be golden and crispy. The flavor and aroma alone are enough to win the Super Bowl of wings, but after you’re done eating, you might need to be carried into the endzone.
